This
was one of the first games that I purchased with my imported Sega Megadrive
in 1989. The graphics were almost arcade
perfect and over the years that term has become a laughing stock. This is because it has been used to
describe games that were no where near arcade perfect but, this game begged
to differ and was really worth the money I spent. I perhaps spent a bit too much for it but
when it was released here in the UK, it cost ten pounds more than I paid for
it on import.
This
is the sequel to Ghosts’n’Goblins, it had Arthur the knight who as usual had
to save the stupid princess. I used to
always wonder how they always fell for the same old trick. I would imagine some creature saying
something like; I have some sweets back at my pad if you want some but you’ll
have to come with me to get them or something just as stupid. Maybe this princess was related to the
stupid moron princess peach from the Mario games.
So
anyway of you go to save the princess and if you have played
Ghosts’n’Goblins, you pretty much know what to expect. This is one of Capcom's best games so you
won’t be disappointed. The only thing that
really got on my nerves was; after almost getting all the way to the end, you
were told that you needed some special weapon and was promptly sent back to
the beginning of the game to go through all the levels to find this blue
Frisbee like thing. I never completed
the game but a friend did and quite frankly I wouldn’t have bothered. It’s hard as expected being a coin guzzler;
perhaps one day I’ll complete it.
