Sonic Adventure

Sonic’s back and this and this time in 3D; the troubles is can he keep the magic that made a star in the nineties?

If you have ever played Sonic on the Megadrive in one of its iterations, you have a good idea how to play this game.

The story is lame as usual; Sonic has to collect the emerald jewels and prevent Dr Robotnick from getting them first.  You have the usual levels that have been present in every Sonic game since the dawn of time.  Sonic is still too fast to control properly.  I found myself confused as to which way I was meant to run. This was partly due to the third dimension.  I would find Sonic twisting and turning in the air and the only thing left to do was let the game take you to wherever you were meant to go.

Not quite tactical but it did work.  Also some of the excuses use to let Dr Robotnick take the jewels were rather predictable.  It did leave a sour taste in my mouth after all the effort it took to get the jewel and after all that; he just turns up, picks up the jewel and says thanks for saving me the effort looking for this jewel.

I think the main problem was that I find Sonic games to be a bit too fast to control properly.  If you run all the time you die and that was the main attraction to the game in the first place.
