Sensible Soccer: European edition

Now this is my kind of game.  No need for subtlety here; you can kick, tackle and do impossible shot until the come comes home.

I first play this game on the |Commodore Amiga and back then it was only called Sensible Soccer.  The reason for that was because it only was a football game.  Now, it has a management side, which I never played.  So, this review will be predominately occupied by the gaming part of the game.

It was released in 96 to 97 and Fifa Soccer and ISS Soccer had been released to a rapturous applause but for me, it was always Sensible Soccer.  I even got friends to play this game that hated football.  You only have one button to play the game but that’s all you needed.  You didn’t need a button to pass, or a button the do some silly trick shot and you definitely didn’t need to do some frigging button combination to activate some super move.  It’s football for friggs sake, not Street Fighter.

You was quite capable of passing the ball to another player or shooting and the only thing you need to do was pull the joystick left or right for after touch, or pull back to kick the ball further.  That’s it, nothing special and that’s the basis of the one the greatest games of all time to ever be released; it’s that good.
