This is a homage game to
Duke Nukem 3d game. It has the same
kind of action with a great plot but rather short. It’s as if the team
just run out of time and the publisher asked them how much was done. “We’ve only finished half of the
game”. “That will do” says the
publisher guy and continues, “If it does well, we’ll sell the other half as a
sequel. HE, HE, HE”.
Story
At the beginning of the game, max is standing on top of a
building and it seems that he’s got
the person who murdered his wife and child.
He starts to reminisce about all the events that drew him to this
point in his life. This is where he
has a flash back and that is where the game starts.
You play the roll of a cop that’s been framed for the murder of
your own wife and child and like all good cops; you decide to take matters
into you own hands.
It starts with you escaping from the scene of the crime. I personally like the story board style
that is used to present the story.(
Sorry, couldn’t think of a better way to put the last sentence.)
You quickly find yourself in the wrong part of town and having
to deal with the underground world.
It seems from what you learn that this wasn’t just another mindless
killing and someone wants you out of the way but why?
As the game continues, you learn of the complex plot that goes
pretty weird at time but you will have to play the game to find out.
My opinion
There is so much top like about this game. It’s very stylish, has a great story and
is the first game to use the Matrix like slow motion in the game, the only
other game to use it is fear. The
only complaint I have is it’s only half here. If you can, get both games in gold pack or something like
that. If not, it’s still worth
playing and probably quite cheap to buy both games.
