Maybe as I get older, I am
becoming cynical in old old age but, haven't I seen this before?
Oh yes, it's called Second Life. This
is a social network with 3D, just like second life and you can get your
friends to come with you to watch movies, etc. The difference is
that in Second Life, the downloads are considerably smaller but, that is
a small isue.
I was listening to Artificial Intelligents and
they were talking about the fact that, unlike a PC; you don't have to
install anything before you play a game on console. Oh yeh?
I turned on my console to try out this Beta of Home.
The console wants to update the firmware.
Not a problem I thought. Three firmware updates latter, I finally
get to input my code and download the program and then I have to
download an update for this program. Then finally, I get to
actually use this program. So no, it isn't any better or worse
than using a PC. Maybe I should use my console more than once
every three months. By the way Mr D, my settings are still in
place and I do not have to re-install them.

You
had better get used to seeing this, as you will see a lot of it
throughout the program. I don't mind, as long as it keeps the
data on the hard drive, which has over 3 GB of space reserved for
the program alone. |

I
went to the cinema and watched Watchman, or at least I tried.
The picture was very dark and I'm sure that as Home improves, I will
be able to alter the brightness and contrast. If you look at
the picture carefully, you will notice that only the movie is really
dark. It was cool but, I could not zoom in enough to fill my
screen with the picture. Might give watching movies in Home a
miss for the time being. |

It looks stunning and doesn't really suffer
from slowdown, all though it took a couple times to connect to the
home network. I can live with that. |

Some dude running past me |
I would have to say that it was OK.
Nothing really wrong with it. I would like to be able to fill my
whole screen in the cinema and alter the contrast and brightness.
If you like social networks, I think you will like home. The good
thing about the Home beta, is that you have to load it up to access it
and it isn't mandatory as previously expected.
