Warhammer online developer interview
Mortal Kombat fatalities confirmed
In Japan, the Sony PSP has been the biggest selling console of 2008. The first half of this year belong to the PSP. According to Famitsu publisher Enterbrain, the PSP moved 1,964,461 units, while the Wii was hot on its heels with 1,720,263 units. Rounding out the top three was the Nintendo DS, selling 1,593,844 units. The title that kept the hand held at the top of the sales chart is Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G but, can it keep up the good work in Japan, or will it sit on its laurels?
I love Kotaku and their wacky stories. One that caught my eye today was five stories that had an impact on the Kojima and the production company that he runs.
Here's a list of the games that he thinks influenced him and his company.

Super Mario Bros. Err; the last one doesn't really count if you ask me. More World of Warcraft: Wrath of the lich king beta is open in the US. If you have the game and would like to take part in the beta; I would suggest you register soon.
Here are instructions taken from Wow insider to take part.

Devil May Cry to come to the PSP. Their are rumours that Capcom may be bringing Devil May Cry to the PSP and I for one can't wait to have a justifiable reason to purchase this console. More; Capcoms website More
03rd of July 2008 Capcom has open a subsidiary in Europe called Capcom Entertainment France. Why I ask? " the focus of this new subsidiary is improving local marketing and direct game software sales." According to Capcom: "From now, the foreign home console market is anticipated to expand, and to accomplish future business growth, it's extremely important to strengthen our overseas sales network." More According to Reuters; in Japan the Playstation 3 is slowly catching up to the Nintendo Wii and with the increase of sales from Metal Gear Solid 4, may make it eventually to the top stop one day. With the Wii having already sold 6 million and the Playstation 3 only selling 2 million in the same time frame, it won't be soon. More Here are some new Gears of War 2 screen shots. More According to the Indian Times, Sony is to release a 4th Playstation 2 into the market. It will no longer have an external power supply and will cost the same amount to buy as the existing Playstation 2 slim.
In Joystick today, they have an interesting interview with Treyarch's Jeremy Luyties, on the new James Bond game that will be based on the new movie. One of the questions that Joystick ask is; how close to the finished game was the graphics that we saw? More HMV is finally starting to sell second hand games in its stores. The locations mentioned are UK, Canada, Singapore, and Hong Kong. This is a big deal as HMV have never sold anything lower than the retail price and means that people who live in London will no longer have to trek up to central london to sell their old games. More Warcraft 3 has a new patch that takes it up to 1.22a. Are people still playing this game? I have the game but never played it. If you are interested in upgrading to this patch, your game will need to already have been patched to the following.
PC (1.22a requires patch 1.21b for installation) Mac (1.21b not required) Warning: If you install the latest firmware for the Playstation 3, you have to wipe your hard drive to fix the problem. More Yakuza 3 will be an exclusive for the Playstation 3. I haven't even played the original game yet. More If you are fortunate enough to go to E3, then you might want to keep an eye out for the Halo Wars booths that will be available to play. More The latest edition of the official Nintendo magazine in the UK has pictures of Animal Crossing and it looks good. More
02nd the July 2008 Swedish developers SimBin, the team behind super hard core racing sim GTR, are working on a game for the XBOX 360. The press speculate as to what this game could be? I would say that it would make sense to release a console lite version of GTR. More I find it funny and a little interesting when one producer comments in a negative way about another companies product. Fallout 3 producer Ashley Chung was complaining about the lack of progress in in Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2. He forgets that Starcraft is the biggest selling game in South Korea. It wouldn't make sense to push the PC specs too far and reduce the market to a size where the game no longer has a chance of being a commercially viable IP. Perhaps he needs to concern himself with the inevitable backlash that will occur if his game doesn't reach the insane high standards that the fans expects, rather than worry about another companies game. More Is this Chrono Trigger for the DS? This screen shot was taken from Square Enixs website and has a moving clock in the background. I proves nothing but; apart from Chrono Cross, what other IP does this company own that would have a clock so prominently displayed on the front page. Go check it out for yourself and make up your own mind. More XBOX 360 to use a minority Report style GUI, Allegedly. If you are as confused as I am at the thought of using just your hands to traverse through the menus on your 360, you might want to check this out just in case. More
01st of July 2008 Bioware are interested in doing something on the iPhone. In an interview with MTV blog, they also talk about why they are doing handheld games. More If the XBOX 360 drops in price, what effect will it have on the sales on the Nintendo Wii? Over here in the UK, the XBOX 360 arcade model is selling for less that the Wii already. In an article on Next-gen, an anylist said "We believe Sony will be forced to follow suit [with their own price cut], although we suspect they may wait a little bit," said Arvind Bhatia with Stern Agee. "A price cut sometime between July and September is possible [for PS3]." More This person has far too much time on their hands. The person has created a GPS system that allows you to find your way to a destination but, they have taken the voice from Valves game Portal. Dragons nest trailer for the PC
