Randal and Dante are back but this time they are in
their thirties. The Quick Stop shop
burns down at the beginning of the movie and they start working at a fast
food restaurant called Mooby.
Dante has a new girlfriend called Emma Bunting; whose father
is offering to buy them a house, give him a job when they get married. At his work place is a woman called Becky
who is Randal and Dante’s boss. They
talk about the usual stuff. If you
haven’t seen a Kevin Smith film, you won’t get this at all.
The
film has a cheap feel about this and the reason for this is because the
original film was Kevin Smiths first movie and this keep the spirit of
that. It doesn’t try to be
pretentious. I did get the feeling
that it tries to be controversial for the sake of doing so.
In
the film Randal thinks that there is only on trilogy and that is Star Wars;
he doesn’t say which Star Wars trilogy he’s talking about but it’s likely you
be the original non-CGI version. He
seems to hate the Lord of the Rings trilogy for some reason and his reasons
for doing so are unfounded but that’s movies for you. You can’t agree on everything.
What
is this film like? Well; if you like
Kevin Smith movies, you will be in your element; other wise avoid it. I personally found some parts boring and
other part quite entertaining. I
think Silent Bob and Jay are in the right quantity. I found the Jay and Silent Bob film annoying; there was only so
much swearing I could take before it lost its appeal to me but, this film was
balanced to me.
