Superman returns after a
five year search for his homeland.
Scientists found what they thought was superman’s homeland but it
turns out to be a futile trip.
When
he returns he finds out the Louis Lane has moved on and is a single parent
mother who is about to get married. She
write a article with the title. “Why the world doesn’t need Superman”.
Lex
Luther has been let out of prison for the 5th time. This is due to Superman not showing up as
a witness to testify against him and due to lack of evidence is let out. He swindles an old lady out of her
money. He then decides to steel the
crystals that were sent to Earth with Superman. These crystals can be used to grow islands from nothing but the
side effect is that other land mass will disappear. So he decides to grow this island next to America, with the
usual consequences.
As
usual this is just an excuse for Lex to kill Superman.
I
will leave it there as if I tell you too much it will spoil the film. The special effects are stunning, as you
would expect from a film that cost in excess on two hundred million
dollars. The only complaint I have is
that it just felt like the world had moved on but Superman was stuck on a
loop that is over twenty years old. I
am aware that there needed to be continuity but, I this for the length of
this movie with is over two and a half hours. It needed a little more depth in the story. The characters were ok. Perhaps what was needed was a bit of
background story between Superman II and this movie. For example why did Superman think that
his homeland would still be there and what happened whilst he was out
there. How was Louis coping with the
sudden disappearance of the blue one.
Maybe they could have pointed me to a source of information where this
information was available for me to lookup.
Overall
it was a very good movie and I think you will enjoy it a lot. I will leave you with one last
thought. Louis son. Who is the father?
