As you can guess just by the
title, this is a race to the death. It's the usual tale of a
family man has been double crossed by someone in the system, who needs
him to cover up something. Jason
Statham plays Jensen Ames, who is convicted of killing his wife.
The trouble was that the murderer knocked him out with some kind of gas.
|
 |
So
like a good American, he plots the downfall of the person who killed
his wife and finds out who was behind the execution. Once in
the prison that provides this race over the internet to tens of
millions, he decides to play along. Will he live or will he
die? |

This
women here runs the prison and also is the brains behind Death Race
itself. She offers drivers their freedom if they win five
races in a row and taking into account that this is the movie
equivalent to Spy Hunter the game, you get the idea that no one is
meant to survive at all. She is very slippery and isn't
someone you mess with. This guy
here has come a long way from his days on the BBC. Ian McShane
is a tough go getter that works in the shop floor on the cars in
between races. |
|
 |
So
the aim of the game is just to survive and nothing else.
Jensen realises the truth of this race. |
 |
This
truck here is nothing more than a moving destruction device.
It will kill anyone and everyone who gets in its way. |
So what was the movie like, I hear you say?
Some actors get better with age, Jason Statham roles seemed to getting
poorer each time. This film is predictable clap trap and will not
win and awards.
I would go as far as to say that it is a load
of crap and they should be paying us to watch garbage like this.
It lacks the humour of Crank and isn't anywhere near as exciting as The
Transporter 1 or 2.
If you have to watch this, bring a book or
video game console to keep yourself occupied. |
